Play Time!

WARNING: THIS IS A LONG POST - SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE IS A SURPRISE...IF YOU MAKE IT ALL THE WAY TO THE END, YOU WILL BE REWARDED WITH ANOTHER DIGI-SCRAP FREEBIES LIST! :-)

I'm so excited! My DH is at work, and my MIL is watching my kiddies. I have all day to play! I am dying to dig further into PSE, and now that I've got my new monitor, I can! I've got some tuts to look play with & am thinking I'm going to try my hand at making a few things... maybe. All of you fab designers make it look so effortless, even though I know it's really time consuming work. :-) So, I'd love any tips & tricks you've got for me.
I've also got a question. I've asked around a bit, and get all kinds of answers, followed by, "I don't really know for sure". So my question is for those of you who design. When you design, I know you can't use other folks kits, elements, etc. unless they are commercial use. But, do you need to have a commercial license for your software? What about the fonts, shapes, patterns, etc, that come loaded with it?
I did email Jen Strange over at Stop Digital Piracy, but I thought I'd pose the Q here too. So, if any of you know with certainty, let me know... you can email me at happyscrapgirl AT gmail DOT com , or just leave a comment here on the blog.

Ok, moving on, sassypixie323 over at Cafe Mom (link in Sidebar), is running a cool challenge this week. The challenge is to create a LO using a picture that you convert to black & white & then add some color back in.
So, here's the LO I made for the challenge:

Watcha think? I know I'm biased cause she's my baby, but I think the pics are so cute - even though she's covered with DIRT!

Well, I hope that you DO like the LO, cause I made it into a Template for ya! Don't worry, it's got a lot less layers than my last one. ;-)

First, here's the credits for the LO above:
Templates:

Kits:

Fonts:

Here's the preview (the links below)

I don't think this one has a password, but if it does, it would still be "happy".

BTW, I'd LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have you share this digital template with your friends, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE send them to my blog to pick it up, don't email it to them.

I would also love to see any Scrapbooking LO's you make with this (or any of my other FREE digi templates - in sidebar). Then I'd know that someone found it useful... Oh my, I'm being a bit of a baby here aren't I??!!!

Okay, now, here are the goodies I found today. Don't forget to mention that you found them on Happy Scrap Girl's Digi Scrap Freebies List:

Thanks for the template (it's great!) and the list :)
Your question about designing have I wondered about too...I have found some templates and shapes, which I know one can use for LO's, but I'm not sure it's allowed to use them to design kits - hopefully an answer will pop in ;)

Hugs!
